Tristan has largely covered this but:
Quote from Klutch :And i don't see the downside to stiffer suspension, better brakes, and more power.

Stiffer springs: you're more likely to bounce off a bump or pothole, lose traction, and have a fatal collision with a tree. More useful to adjust the roll balance to remove the understeer, thus improving handling.

Better (?) brakes: increased resistance to fade is useful for hard driving in cars that weren't designed to take it (which includes much higher spec cars than you would have thought). Before fade becomes an issue though, the increased rotational weight will slow your car, the increased unsprung weight worsen the handling, and the increased pedal sensitivity will make it to modulate the brakes in normal circumstances. There is a reason race cars use the smallest brakes they can (NASCAR sprint cup cars at superspeedways, for example, only brake when entering the pits, so have brakes just large enough to not melt or exploded when they brake from 200mph to stopped in a few seconds).

More power: while fun, also has the potential to mean when you do have your accident from over-spirited driving, you'll probably be going faster so it will hurt more.

I'm still waiting on the better photos to be put up but got these for now:

Sat night (house party)
Sun night (zombie walk) - me against the wall

I've got a new facial prosthetic (example shot, not me!), false teeth, fake ears, liquid latex, face paints, fake blood, and a costume I've yet to sort out. That's for my house party the night before Hallowe'en. Been getting in some practise with the gore nights the rock club here runs: Grey Purple. I should look much better than I did last Hallowe'en.

For the scary night itself, there's a zombie walk in the town centre I'll be party of. The organisers are hoping it will be a thousand strong, but we'll see. I've a couple of foam latex wounds to stick on my face, more fake blood and face paints, and some torn clothing for that. Was at the one we had in the summer too: far right top right

Yes, I've only one ripped t-shirt I use for everything. Might sacrifice another white one to spice things up a bit.

Quote from bunder9999 :meh, it's not enough that they're attractive (or have attractive qualities)... i need one that isn't crazy or has some hidden agenda.

Speak for yourself. I'd settle for just attractive.

Quote from franky500 :@Bob - Cpanel now operational.

Wonderful. Although this morning I finished setting up the business website with godaddy hosting, couldn't wait any longer. At least I can admin my own stuff again though, cheers.

It's using fractals to make up the details though, so it's not accurate at more than a large scale. The best DEM data for the planet is still at several meter resolution. Great for making maps of counties and such, but not quite good enough for roads.

Another interview: http://www.operationsports.com/feature.php?id=1151 (has a second part which will be online in due course)

Ah, but now you all know my ulterior motive for doing this. Everyone should heckle the admins and get them to interview me too.

Quote from franky500 :The Cpanel Licensing issue is still happening, I have put in a ticket with Cpanel who normally respond and resolve in 12-24 business hours (so, mondays - fridays)

Into the third day now, any news?

While any of that could have happened dadge, you're missing the point. This is business, and his business has responsibilities. If personal life is interviening, as it sometimes does, he just needs someone who can cover his back during such times. Unless he wishes his business to get a negative reputation.

I think the lack of communication is the worst problem. Faults can and will happen; I accept this. I would just like to a) know what's going wrong and b) every effort is being put in to resolve the issue(s). If he's stuck waiting on a third party, then it's best to say, then nobody is bitching at him anymore.

As of today, my cPanel interface is telling me
Quote :This server is currently not licensed. Please contact the server administrator. Other services available on this server such as web services are likely functioning normally. (Cannot read license file)

Really need to get in and configure a few things today!

Was just about to post that link. The camera did swing past my head on Monday morning but it seems I didn't make the cut.

Maybe if I'd been doing something more interesting, like testing out car handling with the G25, rather than debugging blind AI that were crashing into one another, I'd have been more interesting for the camera.

Edit: For those who can't watch, I've managed to get a firefox plugin to rip videos, but it's only giving me the damn 30 second advert at the start, not the main feature. :|

The current stance is, we are not tolerating discussion of content editing either. Why? It's using the official, developer funded forum to support more additional content for free that would otherwise be the devs source of income, so it's breaking their business model.

This can of course change, but only if the devs tell us. I see this as an eventuality, as we'll either get tools to do the job ourselves, or the LFS project will have gone so long without new content it will be considered dead. I don't think either is happening anytime soon, so I don't think there's anything else to say on this matter now.

MartinDWermuth - hopefully this has answered your question now.

Quote from mrodgers :I just mapped a route through Europe by car. The route travels from Netherland, through Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and finishes in France. The route is still 3 hours short of my trip to Disneyworld this year.

Granted, it's a lot easier to see lots of different countries on this content than yours. America sure has a lot of real estate. I'd wager on that drive in Europe, that would be a hell of a lot more variety in culture, architecture, lifestyle and general experience though (not saying America isn't varied within itself, I left scenery out of that list for good reason).

You may wish to provide some more context for your question. What is it about a car you wish to edit? What cars do you wish to edit; you've made this thread in off-topic so one would assume it's not LFS related?

Without more information you're only going to get sarcastic answers like Forbin's.
